CPLANE NETWORKS joins ETSI Multi-access Edge Computing group

CPLANE NETWORKS recently joined the European Telecommunication Standards Institute (ETSI) Multi-access Edge Computing (MEC) group. MEC is leading the industry in defining a new architecture and ecosystem to enable operators to open their Radio Access Network edge to authorized  third-parties, allowing them to deploy innovative new applications and services such as edge analytics, location services, augmented reality, and optimized local content distribution.

Multi-access Edge Computing (MEC) offers application developers and content providers cloud-computing capabilities and an IT service environment at the edge of the network. This environment is characterized by ultra-low latency and high bandwidth as well as real-time access to radio network information that can be leveraged by applications. Source: ETSI

CPLANE’s participation in MEC reinforces our industry leadership in delivering a high-performance, scalable service orchestration platform that delivers fully integrated end-to-end network and application services for globally distributed clouds, network edge services (e.g., CORD), and mobile-edge clouds.
